Here we go Cougars. We are hosting our first games this Saturday and I am asking all the players to arrive at 8 a.m. when I will distribute jerseys. I could use some help to avoid the mad grab and make it as organized as possible. Please make sure your boy has his own pair of BLACK SHORTS (solid preferably).Once numbers are assigned, Heather Cook has offered to make cool laminated roster cards for all of us.We are also hoping to have a team photo taken right after the first game around 10:30. Thank you to our resident pro Jo Reeves for her lens work.It is supposed to be very cold so warm clothes that can be worn over their pads while warming up or on the sidelines are recommended. Sweat pants that can be put on and off over cleats and a zip up hoodie, you know.
Call for Volunteers: (REPLY TO ALL SO EVERYONE KNOWS WHO IS DOING WHAT)The Table:Chris Cook offered to run the clock table for the first and third games. He could use another volunteer there to record data in our score book for both games.We actually are hosting 3 games so I think another volunteer is needed for the middle game between Fellowship Christian and Whitfield.
PLEASE HELP. Water and or Gatoraid with cups - for the first and third game. if you have access to a big jug we could use it at the team bench. Snacks for the players between the first and third game. This is something I have not thought through but we will have an hour break and something light might be needed? they can chow down at a big lunch after the games. a restroom sign for lacrosse visitors: The school is allowing us access to the Theater restrooms and a simple sign on the door would be helpful. Any other thoughts on how to make the day great are appreciated. please reply to all on this.
One final note: As you all know we did not do cuts this year and are carrying a larger number of players for a lacrosse team. In order to manage our lines I have told the players that Coach T and I would do our best to give them a great lacrosse season and get as much field time as possible. With 30 players we simply cannot get everyone in on every game. So, we have establishes lines where some boys will play in one game and not the other. I will try to communicate those lines more specifically when we are traveling so you, as parents can plan your days better. But this being our first home game/s I hope everyone will be there to support us. Regarding our rookie players, in time they will get in games too but this weekend they have been told to observe and get to know what a game is like. I value all of our lax cats and hope you understand the challenges we are facing in that respect. Thanks to all of you for letting me coach your guys and for all of your support.GO COUGARS!
